Whether it's engaging in athletics, exploring artistic endeavors, or being leaders on campus, these young learners thrive when given opportunities to actively participate. Such activities not only enhance their physical and mental abilities but also encourage social interaction, cooperation, and the development of essential life skills. By engaging in various activities, elementary school students build confidence, discover their passions, and lay the foundation for a well-rounded education.
After School Program
Quest is an exceptional after-school program exclusively for students in grades K-5 hosted at West Resource Center. To enroll your student, please do so through the District's online enrollment process. The program will begin on the first full day of school for 1st through 5th grade, and kindergartners will begin on their respective first full day and will continue through the last day of school. For your convenience, Quest members will be provided daily transportation from EES to West Resource Center. Quest is offered on regular days; school is in session from 3:00 pm - 5:20 pm, except early release Wednesdays. Quest is also not available during breaks or inclement weather days.
Our dedicated staff will provide homework assistance to ensure academic progress. We are committed to nurturing your child's interests and talents, offering a variety of creative recreational activities. Social and emotional learning is a key focus, with daily activities including arts, crafts, health/wellness, and the marathon club. Please note that our after-school program requires regular attendance, and approval from the Director is necessary due to limited space.
Quest aims to create a community where children can socialize, make friends, and explore their diverse interests. To ensure a successful experience, open communication between parents and the program is essential. Please communicate any absences before 2 pm daily through email or the EES office. Together, we can create an enriching and supportive environment for your child's after-school hours.

Ambassadors
The goal of Student Ambassadors is to encourage leadership among students and to develop them into productive community members. This program aims to build positive relationships, promote leadership and create a sense of responsibility in students. Building supportive, positive relationships with the younger student population and working alongside their peers and staff will allow these ambassadors to realize their leadership potential and, in turn, develop a higher self-esteem.
4th grade students can apply to be an ambassador during their 5th grade year. Below are a few examples of specific tasks ambassadors participate in:
- Be a positive role model for other students.
- Reinforce the PBIS matrix (SOAR expectations) for our students in various ways.
- Give tours to new students throughout the year and to parents during Kindergarten Round Up.
- Help Kindergarten students during breakfast.
- Partner with staff to recognize needs and determine ways to meet them.
- Represent EES students and share visions, goals, and achievements with community and district members.
The ambassador selection process includes a student application and a collection of teacher feedback regarding each applicant's leadership and SOARing behavior throughout the year. Each year 20 to 25 students are selected. If you have any questions, please contact Jill Dodge, Lindsay Bond, or Jennifer Decker.

Once participants complete a full marathon, they earn a t-shirt and have their name/picture posted on our CMC board!
